In this modern era, there is this mindset among the youth that farming is for the peasant and the old adage. But in the real world, wealth lies in the soil too. Farming plays a crucial role in a lot of countries around the world.
In 2010, a young man named Peter Mwangi, from Nairobi, Nigeria. Peter is a degree holder in biology and agriculture education. He teaches at a local school in his locality. He saw the need to utilize the land his parents gave him and venture into pineapple farming.
As an orphan who has lost his parents, he got 1 acre of land and started as a small-scale farmer. He later got 20 acres of land after two years of teaching and expanded his pineapple business.
His initial capital was 5000.00 in ghana cedis.
He used the money for manure, seeds, labor and miscellaneous. Peter Mwangi explain that after planting the pineapple seed it has gown and has yield more fruit. It has mad him got more money. Peter is happy and proud of himself now.
Peter, now a successful farmer and a millionaire, is very happy and much grateful that he has created jobs for young people in his locality through farming. He set out to advise the youth not to deprive agriculture of work.
